Through Medicare, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (First Nations) people can receive annual health checks from their doctor, as well as follow‑up services from other health professionals, that are specifically for First Nations people. These services aim to identify and treat common health conditions that disproportionately affect First Nations people.
