Since being launched in December 2022, Australia's Disability Strategy Outcomes Framework webpages have reported on a wide range of data to see if life is improving for the 1 in 6 (4.4 million) Australians living with disability.

The Outcomes Framework is a key initiative under Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021–2031 to measure, track and report on outcomes for people with disability over the life of the Strategy.

Today, the AIHW is releasing its quarterly update to the Outcomes Framework, including the second annual outcomes framework report. The report provides an overview of the progress made on outcomes for people with disability 18 months after the start of the Strategy in December 2021.

This update includes additional data for 22 measures. For these measures, 7 show progress, 7 show no change and 8 show regress.

Also included in the report are data from Australia’s Disability Strategy Survey — Share with us, community attitude research undertaken by the Australian National University. The data was first released on the Outcomes Framework website in October 2023.

Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021–2031 outlines a vision to make life better for people with disability, creating a more inclusive and accessible Australian society where people with disability can fulfil their potential as equal members of the community.

The Australian, state and territory governments are continuing to work together to create and improve the data needed to report on Outcomes Framework measures. Part of this work includes the ongoing development of the National Disability Data Asset (NDDA).
