Notes

The number of people (clients) in the Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) who experience one or more repeat episodes of homelessness after achieving housing, typically with a signature homeless–housed–homeless pattern of housing status over a period of time.
Return to homelessness describes the number of SHS clients who experienced an episode of homelessness during the financial year and a pattern of homeless–housed–homeless in the 24-months prior to the most recent record of homelessness. Data is based on the housing situation recorded on the last service provision date of each month during a client’s support period, therefore, may not reflect whether a client had continuous days experiencing homeless or more secure housing.
Although the majority of women and children affected by family and domestic violence are victim-survivors, the data may include those who needed, were provided with, or referred to perpetrator support services. This indicator is taken from the National Housing and Homelessness Agreement indicators. More information, including data specifications, can be found at National Housing and Homelessness Agreement Indicators.
