The International Group on Indigenous Health Measurement is a network of people from government and non-government arenas from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States who are united in the desire to improve the collection, analysis, dissemination and use of health information for Indigenous populations.
In Australia, the National Advisory Group on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Information and Data (NAGATSIHID) is the principal committee responsible for providing broad strategic advice on ways to improve the quality and availability of data and information on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and health service delivery. NAGATSIHID also draws together a range of Indigenous health information management activities into a coordinated and strategic process.
The inaugural meeting of the International Group for Indigenous Health Measurement Group was held in Canada in October 2005. For more information on the inaugural meeting, including outcomes from that meeting, please refer to International Group for Indigenous Health Measurement, Vancouver 2005.
