Why AIHW is a great place to work
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) provides a range of benefits to its employees including competitive salaries, policies and practices that support work-life balance, valuable learning and development opportunities and an excellent culture.
We encourage a positive work environment that values innovation and collaboration. The work that we do creates authoritative and accessible information and statistics that inform decisions and improve the health and welfare of all Australians. We are a small, friendly agency where the CEO likes to get to know everyone.
Employee census
The AIHW’s latest APS employee census results reinforce our strong culture of collaboration and commitment to excellence – with 95% of employees saying they would recommend the AIHW as a good place to work. We also achieved top ten rankings in employee engagement, communication, and wellbeing scales out of 104 APS agencies.
The AIHW is undertaking detailed analysis of 2024 results, and an Action Plan will be developed based on employee feedback, to ensure the AIHW remains a great place to work.
