Steering committee for the review of Commonwealth/State service provision - health working group

The Steering Committee comprises representatives from the Australian Government, state and territory and local governments. The committee is chaired by Mr Gary Banks (who is also chair of the Productivity Commission). The chair of the Steering Committee has an independent role and does not represent the Australian Government or state and territory governments. The Steering Committee is supported by working groups, one of which is the health working group. This group is convened by a particular steering committee member and is responsible for the development of agreed performance measures for the health sector. Each jurisdiction has the opportunity to nominate a representative on the Working Group, comprising senior staff of the state health authorities. The Working Group may also draw on advice from specialist research groups, such as the AIHW and the ABS.

Secretariat: The Productivity Commission is the secretariat to the steering committee.
